Draper sits at the far south end of the Salt Lake Valley, right where the land pinches up toward Point of the Mountain and the gap that separates it from Utah Valley. That gap is one of the windiest spots along the whole Wasatch Front, and homes on Draper's south and east sides feel it. Most of Draper's housing is newer than its neighbors' to the north. If you live up there, ask specifically about wind-rated shingles, six-nail fastening, and proper ice-and-water underlayment at the eaves and valleys, not the spec that gets used one exit down the hill.
